2025 - 2027 - Expansion of the Lukuledi girls' school to five classes
Bishop Filbert Mhasi worked with “masanka.ch” to establish a school in 2019–2024, which has got off to a perfect start and is now being expanded. We are planning to construct a building with 100 beds for the girls.
The cost of the building is CHF 32,500, which is equivalent to 99 million Tanzanian shillings.
In October 2025, we visited the Arnold Cotey Secondary School for Girls in Lukuledi and were thrilled by the excellent atmosphere at this wonderful place. The classrooms and dormitories are arranged around a courtyard with large, shady trees, surrounded by many plants in pots and flower beds. The rooms and outdoor facilities are very clean and well maintained. The students are happy and appreciate the safe and peaceful environment, which has a positive effect on their performance. The second-year classes did very well in the last regional exams, and Bishop Filbert hopes for equally good results in the National Exam in November.
The girls in the preparatory class have already passed the entrance exam and will attend the first grade starting in January. The classroom and dormitories are already very cramped, and another 50-60 new students are expected next fall. That is why we are planning to build another building with 100 beds for the girls.
The cost of the building amounts to CHF 32,500, which corresponds to 99 million Tanzanian Shillings. This amount includes foundations, walls, roof construction and corrugated iron roofing, interior ceilings, doors, windows, painting and plastering, electrical installations, and sanitary facilities.
We have reviewed the cost estimate. The rejected points have been corrected.
The construction site is located right next to the dining room.
Financial transactions are carried out in stages, each following a documented interim report. This gives us complete control over expenditure. As all members of masanka.ch work on a voluntary basis and pay their own expenses, there are no additional costs. Every franc is invested directly in Lukuledi.
We are very proud of this wonderful project. Thank you very much for your support.
